So good!

I should have read the reviews! I was just so excited to be able to at least order this beloved caramel sauce since it’s not available in my local stores any more. However, the recipe has changed and it is nothing special at all. The old product was awesome. So sad it’s gone. Wont order again.

When they got rid of it a few years back I bought the last two 8# cans they had at the Wyandotte store. The ingredient list read as follows: cream, corn syrup, sugar, water, butter, corn starch, whey, dry milk, salt, raisin juice concentrate, gum acacia, xanthan gum, soy lecithin, natural flavor. I spent a few weeks trying to duplicate it, got pretty close and found that the dry milk and the raisins were absolutely necessary to duplicate the flavor profile. I still have 2 pints of the original stuff left, and this stuff ain't it.

The caramel dessert topping formula has been severely downgraded and it tastes awful.

If you were looking for the traditional Sanders topping don’t look here. This is nothing like what I remember as a kid growing up in Detroit. When I had a sander’s bumpy cake last year it was spot on. So I thought I would give the toppings a shot. Not even close. If you’re going to buy the name and hope to keep its following, you have blown it. I even think they stopped making bumpy cake to ship. I live 2000 from Detroit now and it was nice get a little taste of home but ya messed that up for me and the many displaced Detroiters pining for a taste of home.
